Cassie is part of a group of neglected dogs that were rescued from a home in a rural area. There were a lot of dogs and the people were not taking care of them properly. They barely fed them and did not interact with them much. As a result, she was comfortable around other dogs but very nervous around new people at first. Since being in her foster home her progress has been amazing. She warms up to people more easily. She's hesitant to join in until she is comfortable, but she likes to be near her people and very much enjoys time on walks.
When Cassie was first rescued, she was actually in labor! It was in the heat of the summer and she was so scared, hungry and suffering with fleas and intestinal parasites. Even though she was miserable she was a wonderful mama dog. She was grateful for the nutritious food and soft blankets as she had always lived outside. Her puppies were all adopted. Since then, she's been soaking up the love and TLC in her wonderful foster home.
She's a beautiful girl with lots of love to give.
Cassie appears to be a possible lab/border collie and she's about 2 years old and 40 lbs.
She's just finished heartworm treatment and once she tests negative, she'll be spayed.
